An interior designer’s choice – a warm towel after a shower brings everyday luxury to the bathroom

15.9.2026

Small details in a bathroom can make a big difference to its atmosphere and comfort. In interior designer Annika Tiala’s home, a towel dryer was chosen primarily to dry and warm towels and a bathrobe, but it also became a carefully considered part of the bathroom’s interior.

Read on to learn about Annika’s bathroom renovation and why she chose REJ Design’s electric Vivo E 20124 towel dryer with the striking KULO finish.

Who are you, and what do you do?

“I’m Annika Tiala, an interior designer and the founder of AT Living. I originally trained as an occupational health physician, and I enjoy combining medicine and interior design, working part-time in both fields. My work in healthcare has taught me to listen to my clients, and I understand how spaces and our surroundings affect our overall wellbeing.”

Why did you want a towel dryer in your home?

“I wanted a towel dryer in the bathroom to dry and warm towels and my bathrobe. For me, a towel dryer is above all a way to bring a touch of luxury and extra comfort to the bathroom.

After a shower, it is lovely to wrap yourself in a warm towel – especially when heading out to the glass-enclosed terrace to cool down, even in cooler weather, or to enjoy the hot tub on the terrace.

Beyond providing warm towels, a towel dryer also serves a practical purpose. When a towel dries thoroughly between uses, it does not stay damp and develop a musty smell. This helps keep it fresh for longer, allowing more time between washes and improving bathroom hygiene.”

Why did you choose a REJ Design towel dryer?

“What I particularly appreciate about REJ Design towel dryers is their Finnish origin. The dryers are designed and manufactured in Finland, which was an important factor in my decision.

I also value their durability and modern design. A towel dryer is a visible feature in a bathroom, so I wanted something that would serve its purpose while also looking good as part of the interior.”

Why the Vivo model in particular?

“I fell in love with Vivo’s space-saving vertical design. Even large towels can hang down unfolded to dry, without having to fold them over a rail.

Vivo’s design is elegant and modern, making it feel like much more than a functional bathroom fixture. It is a beautiful interior feature that also works well in other rooms in the home.

The Vivo model also has an integrated timer and an eco function, allowing you to use the dryer efficiently when needed and save electricity.”

Why did you choose the KULO finish?

“I specifically wanted the KULO finish because of its unique appearance. The finish is created by treating copper with a flame, giving each dryer a slightly different surface.

That is precisely what makes it special: every towel dryer with a KULO finish is unique. The richly varied surface brings warmth, depth and personality to Vivo’s otherwise minimalist design – the dryer is like a small work of art within the bathroom.”

Discover REJ Design’s KULO finish

Created by flame-treating the entire surface, KULO joined REJ Design’s standard colour range in summer 2025. Its warm, deep brown hue and richly varied surface texture give every product an individual character.

KULO pairs particularly beautifully with natural materials, warm wood tones and muted tile colours. It adds a refined finishing touch to the bathroom, combining practicality, Finnish craftsmanship and distinctive design.

The KULO finish is available for all REJ Design electric and water-heated towel dryers.
